Wade Gibson is a legal and business executive with more than 15 years of experience as a corporate lawyer, C-suite leader, and naval officer. He has practiced M&A at an AMLaw 100 firm, led a revenue organization at one of the country’s largest security companies, and serves today as General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer at a venture-backed defense technology company. Wade has sat on the client’s side of the table as well as the attorney’s, and knows what it is like to own P&L outcomes.

At OGC, Wade advises growth-stage and private equity-backed companies on the full range of commercial and corporate matters. He is particularly effective in businesses where legal and go-to-market strategies are deeply intertwined, such as with recurring-revenue models, dealer and channel networks, and defense and security technologies, where contract terms shape how quickly the business can sell.

In addition to his practice at OGC, Wade serves as Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel, and a member of the board of directors of Brecourt Solutions, a VC-backed company building AI-powered indoor drones for security and defense. Before Brecourt, Wade spent four years at Brinks Home Security, one of the country’s largest security companies, joining as Senior Vice President, Dealer Sales, and rising to Chief Sales Officer and then Chief Revenue Officer. There, he led a large sales, business development, and M&A organization and redesigned dealer-channel economics. Having carried a revenue number himself, Wade understands what a slow contract cycle costs a sales organization, and he approaches commercial terms with that cost in view.

Earlier in his career, Wade was a corporate associate at Troutman Pepper Locke LLP and a management consultant in Oliver Wyman’s Aerospace and Defense practice. Wade also spent nearly a decade in public service, both as a U.S. Navy Reserve Intelligence officer, including a year-long deployment to a combat zone in the Horn of Africa, and as Chief of Staff of the Rhode Island Executive Office of Commerce, where he led a successful effort to grow the defense tech and manufacturing ecosystem in Rhode Island. That experience still informs how he advises companies selling into defense and government markets, where the buyer’s constraints are often as consequential as the contract’s terms.

Wade earned his J.D. from Yale Law School and his A.B. from Princeton University. He is admitted to practice law in Texas.
