Professional Summary
Jeff Levenberg is a trusted advisor and former general counsel with more than two decades of in-house leadership experience helping technology and other innovation-driven companies manage risk and meet their business goals. His practice focuses on commercial transactions, with an emphasis on technology-related deals including SaaS, licensing, OEM, and channel agreements. He also advises on AI-specific contract terms and ownership of AI inputs and outputs, as well as day-to-day legal needs such as employment counseling, litigation management, product development, and marketing and media matters. Having sat in the GC chair, Jeff understands the pressures inside a company and what businesses need from their lawyers, and is known for his steady judgment and clear-eyed approach to navigating complex challenges. He identifies the risks but focuses on finding practical, business-minded solutions that keep things moving.
Jeff previously served as Vice President and General Counsel, Americas, at NICE Ltd. (NASDAQ: NICE), a global enterprise software company and a leader in AI-powered customer experience (CX) and agentic AI solutions, where he spent nearly two decades advising an AI business from the inside. During his tenure, he held a series of progressively senior roles supporting the company’s rapid expansion across North and South America. In this role, Jeff oversaw all legal operations for the Americas region, supporting sales, product, R&D, HR, and corporate functions. To meet the needs of a rapidly expanding business, he grew the Americas legal team to nearly 20 professionals and built a function recognized for its responsiveness, collaboration, and alignment with business goals. His work spanned complex technology and commercial transactions, corporate governance, employment counseling, M&A, and litigation management. He unified previously separate legal teams and led initiatives leveraging technology to modernize operations, automate workflows, and improve visibility into contracting and deal status, leading to faster deal closure and greater alignment between legal and business teams. He also led internal training on generative AI tools, covering practical use cases, effective prompting, and safe use.
Earlier in his career, Jeff served as Senior Attorney at Toshiba, where he supported the company’s consumer electronics business. In this role, he negotiated a wide range of commercial and technology agreements, including strategic alliances, OEM and vendor contracts, and technology development arrangements. He also advised on marketing and advertising compliance, product safety, and consumer protection issues, and collaborated with outside counsel on class action, product liability, and patent litigation. His responsibilities extended to Toshiba’s Mexican manufacturing subsidiary, giving him early cross-border and international experience. Jeff began his legal career in the entertainment industry, serving as Director of Business & Legal Affairs at Rawkus Entertainment and Associate Director of Business & Legal Affairs at Universal Motown Records Group, both part of Universal Music Group. In these roles, he negotiated and structured a wide range of recording, producer, licensing, and sponsorship agreements, and advised on intellectual property and other business affairs issues amid the industry’s transition to digital distribution.
Outside of work, Jeff loves to travel with his family and is on a quest to visit all 50 states. A die-hard University of Michigan sports fan and self-professed sneakerhead, he lives in New Jersey with his wife, two children, and their opinionated Dachshund, Rollo.
